Mount VX-6 is a distinctive, sharp-rimmed and 2185 m high mountain in East Antarctica Victoria Land . It rises 6.5 km north of the minaret nunatak from the monument nunatak core .
The mountain was mapped by a team from the United States Antarctic Program who worked in Victoria Land from 1959 to 1960 . These named him after the flight squadron VX-6 (from January 1, 1969 referred to as VXE-6) of the United States Navy , which supported the team logistically.
