Mount Wood is a 1230 m high mountain on the Orville coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises west of Gardner Inlet and 15 miles west of Mount Austin .
Participants of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) discovered him. The expedition leader Finn Ronne named the mountain after Ernest Albert Wood Jr. (1924-1999), machinist on the ship Port of Beaumont, Texas on this research trip .
