The Mountain Club of Malawi (German: Malawischer Bergverein ) is an alpine club in Malawi . In addition to the inhabitants of Malawi, its target audience is also members of mountain sports associations in other countries.

The Mountain Club of Malawi was founded as the Mlanje Mountain Club in December 1952 by a group of expatriates who regularly climbed in Mulanje . The driving force and first chairman was Pat Hall, who had been traveling in Mulanje since the 1930s; other founding members were Moira Bird and John and Anne Killick. In the 1970s, the club became known as Mulanje Mountain Club and in 1980 it was renamed The Mountain Club of Malawi . The members of the association are still mostly expatriates, but the number of Malawian members is growing.

The association participates in the maintenance of the huts in Mulanje together with the forest administration and the Mulanje Mountain Conservation Trust .
