The Moure de la Gardille is one of the highest peaks in the Massif Central . It is 1503 m high and is located about 25 kilometers east-northeast of Mende . On the southeast side of the mountain is the source of the Allier , to the west, a little below the summit, rises the Chassezac . The GR 7 long-distance hiking trail leads over the mountain , just south of the summit.
