The Chassezac is a river in France that runs through the Occitania and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions. Its source stream Ruisseau des Fourches rises in the Cevennes , on the western flank of the Moure de la Gardille (1503 m), in the municipality of Saint-Frézal-d'Albuges . It initially drains in a south-westerly direction, then turns south-east to east, crosses the southern part of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park and, after 85 kilometers, flows into the Ardèche as a right tributary at the municipal boundary of Saint-Alban-Auriolles and Sampzon . On its way, the Chassezac flows through the Lozère and Ardèche departments . For a few kilometers it also forms the border with the Gard department .
