The Thines (actually: Rivière de Thines) is a small mountain river in France that runs in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Cevennes , in the municipality of Montselgues , under the name Ruisseau de Chaptines , generally drains in a southerly direction through the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park and flows into the municipality of Malarce-sur-la-Thines as a left tributary after 16 kilometers the Chassezac dammed up by the barrage of Malarce .
