The Daejeon World Cup Stadium is a football stadium in the South Korean city of Daejeon . It is also known under the name "Purple Arena" .
history
The stadium was completed in September 2001 (construction costs 128 million euros) and was one of the Korean venues for the 2002 World Cup . The stadium has a capacity of 40,407 spectators.
After the World Cup, it became the home of Daejeon Citizen , a franchise of the K League Classic , the top division of South Korea.
