Eberhard Stroot

Eberhard Stroot (born March 20, 1951 in Bruchhausen ) is a former German athlete and Olympian who started for USC Mainz while he was active .

In 1974 he became German champion with the USC Mainz decathlon team, and came second in the individual competition. At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montréal , Guido Kratschmer , who also started for USC Mainz, was second in the decathlon. Eberhard Stroot had three invalid attempts in the pole vault, but fought his way through to 21st place with nine exercises.

After his playing days, Stroot started a new career as a painter and draftsman. After finishing his active career, he moved to Kreuztal and now has a studio in Siegen .
