description

Founded in 1966 as a Belgian spin-off of the MRAP , it became a GoE on October 7, 1975 . The organization calls for the unification and action of all who want to oppose discrimination , hatred and prejudice based on race , nationality, language , culture , national or ethical origin, skin color, creed or worldview. She wants to promote friendship between peoples and equality and brotherhood between people. She wants to keep the memory of the victims of racist persecution alive, especially the memory of the victims of Nazism. The MRAX is mainly funded by the French Community of Belgium , Cocof and Actiris .

crisis

At the end of October 2009, Minister Fadila Laanan set up a commission of inquiry to investigate allegations by MRAX employees that nepotistic practices prevail within MRAX and that public funds are used in very dubious ways.

In November 2009, the liberal Senator Alain Destexhe called for all subsidies to the MRAX to be stopped, as this organization was becoming increasingly racist, whites were labeled as pale faces, and the organization would not act against anti-Semitism, express sympathy for Hamas and have a leadership member even expressed understanding for the attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York . The MRAX is also changing more and more into a lobby organization for Islamists.
