Mud (unit)

Mud , Mudde , Muwer or Mouwer was a measure of space used in the Netherlands for solid materials, primarily for grain . In addition to grain, lime and coal were also measured.

Mud, with sack or Zak, plural Zakken, corresponded to one hectolitre . It was true

This order corresponded to hectoliters, decalitres , liters, deciliters .

  • 1 new load (Dutch) = 30 Mudde / Zakken = 30 hectoliters
  • ½ mud = 50 heads / head
  • 1 head = 1 liter

The Maatje / Mäßchen or glass was equated to the deciliter by the law of December 18, 1819.

  • 1 old load (Amsterdam / Dutch) = 27 Zakken = 30 hectoliters
