The Mud Island Amphitheater is an amphitheater in Memphis, Tennessee .
History and use
The open-air arena is located on the Mud Island peninsula between the coastal currents of the Mississippi and Wolf Rivers . The theater was built in 1985 and holds around 5,500 spectators with a minimal stage size. Internationally known artists such as Eric Clapton , The Police , Robert Plant , Sting , Joe Walsh and Fall Out Boy have performed in the theater .
