The Mud Lake is a small lake in the river system of the St. Lawrence River . It is located in Jefferson County in the US state of New York , on its banks is the village of Redwood , which belongs to the town of Alexandria .

Mud Lake is home to at least six species of fish: pike , American perch , catfish and blue sunfish , as well as largemouth bass and common sunfish . It is also used for fishing, but it is only allowed to go into the northeast of the lake and only with small canoes .

flora

In the west of the lake there is a forest of oaks and some pine trees and in the south and north marshlands make the terrain quite impassable. In the east, however, the area is cultivated by a campsite .
