Mueang Sema
Mueang Sema ( Thai : เมือง เสมา ) is an archaeological site in the Nakhon Ratchasima province . The province of Nakhon Ratchasima is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .
Location and excavation history
Mueang Sema is located in Sung Noen County ( Amphoe ) , Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The square is one of the few larger places surrounded by a moat from the late 1st millennium in northeastern Thailand, but has not yet been intensively explored. Mueang Sema is at a point where one can control the traffic connections between the central plain and the Khorat plateau .
Finds
In the few excavations so far, an inscription has been found that notes cattle, water buffalo and slaves as gifts from the ruler of Sri Canasa to the temple. Sri Canasa was likely a minor independent rule during the Dvaravati period.
