Muhammad Mamle

Muhammad Mamle ( Kurdish : Mihemedî Mamlê ; * 1925 in Mahabad , Iran ; † January 13, 1999 ibid) was a Kurdish musician and singer from Iran who specialized in traditional folk songs.

Life

He re-recorded folk songs and published them. Apart from that, he gave small concerts and often sang with his friends. Because of his political activities, Mamle was arrested several times by the Iranian government. Mamle died in 1999 and was buried in the Budak Sultan Cemetery.

Mamle is venerated by the residents of Mahabad. Other members of the Mamle clan are musically active.
