The Mukai Rocks ( Japanese 向 岩 Mukai-iwa , German 'Opposite rocks' ) are a small group of cliff rocks off the Prince Harald coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They are located across from East Ongul Island on the eastern boundary of Ongul Sound .
Aerial photographs and measurements by a Japanese Antarctic expedition carried out from 1957 to 1961 were used to map them. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Japanese name made in 1972 in 1975 in a partial translation into English.
