Multedo

Multedo (in Ligurian : Murtiòu ) is a small district of the northern Italian port city of Genoa . It is located in the west of the city, between the districts of Sestri Ponente and Pegli , and belongs to Munizip VII Ponente . Multedo has 4988 inhabitants.

history

The historical residential district has been closely tied to Pegli throughout its existence. In the past, Multedo had autonomy several times , but was finally incorporated into the municipality of Pegli in 1875.

The Ligurian name of the district Murtiòu means myrtle grove and refers to the widespread use of this shrub plant on the Ligurian coast.
