Multi-concrete plant in Troisdorf-Spich, approx. 2000

Multibeton is a GmbH under German law based in Troisdorf .

history

Originally a producer in the field of concrete chemistry and screed additives , the company is the pioneer of modern underfloor heating in large-scale production. From 1964, multi-concrete underfloor and surface heating was developed in theory, planning, material and construction technology. In 1967 the first multi-concrete underfloor heating - and thus the first underfloor heating with plastic pipes - was installed. In 1970 the locations in Kürten-Eichhof (development), Obersteeg station (production of screed additives) and Cologne (administration) in the Bergisch Gladbach district of Lochermühle were merged, with VMH-Multibeton based in Leverkusen responsible for sales . In 1971 the public presentation took place, simultaneously as underfloor heating, wall heating and ceiling heating . In a report by the European Economic Community in 1980 it was stated that the Multibeton company was the largest company in this field in Europe. In 1980, sales were also taken over by the headquarters in Bergisch Gladbach. In 1990 the company was relocated to Troisdorf.

The sales area extends (2019) with 23 branches and representative offices in Europe and North Africa.

In addition to surface heating and cooling in buildings, systems for open surface heating, including in asphalt, and for special applications have also been developed.

Trivia

In the “Handbook for Youth and Music”, the term “Multibeton Headquarters” in Leverkusen in 1979 symbolically stands for the “completely densely populated city”, in which “there are no more niches”, whereby concrete is actually not part of the product range.
