The name Lochermühle refers to the former factory site of the Rheinische Wollspinnerei , which extends on both sides of the Strunde south of Rommerscheid . The Locher Mühle located there was laid out as the Pleißmühle at the end of the 16th century . In the 1960s, production was stopped and the site was used for other purposes. Since then, the so-called Strunde Park has been located there, with mainly commercial operations and shopping centers, but also with residential developments. The name of the settlement and the mill referred to the terrain of the Strundet valley.
