Location of Eulenburg in Bergisch Gladbach

Eulenburg is a district in the Sand district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

The Eulenburg is a modern court establishment that is already recorded in the original cadastre on the road to Wipperfürth . It had eleven residents in 1858. By 1905 the small farm had developed into a hamlet with six residential buildings and 24 residents. The name has nothing to do with the bird order of the owls , rather it is a modified variant of the field name Erlenbroich. In Irlenbroichs Wiese , the name has been retained in its original form. Thus, the name refers to an alder population in the swampy terrain of the Strunderbach valley .
