Munāfiq

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Munāfiq ( Arabic منافق, Plural munāfiqūn ) is an Islamic term that denotes a religious hypocrite , someone who practices Islam on the outside while hiding his disbelief ( kufr ) inside , possibly unwittingly. The hypocrisy is called Nifaq in Islam .

The term munāfiq in Arabic, Bengali and Urdu is mainly a non-religious term that refers to a person whose action is in contrast to, or in contrast to, the thoughts he is concealing. Sura 63 of the Koran al-Munāfiqūn is named after the hypocrites and describes people who pronounce the creed as mere lip service :

"When the hypocrites come to you, they say," We testify that you are the Messenger of God. " You are his messenger, God knows! But (they just pretend to believe it.) God testifies that the hypocrites lie. "

There are hundreds of ayas (verses) in the Koran dealing with the munāfiqūn . They state that these hypocrites are more dangerous to Muslims than the worst non-Muslim enemies of Islam. The Koran says:

"The hypocrites are (one day) at the bottom of the Hellfire, and you will (then) find no helper for them;"

- Sura 4 , Āya 145 (Rudi Paret)
