The Munku Sardyk ( Russian Мунку-Сардык ) is at 3492 m the highest mountain of the Eastern Sayan (a South Siberian mountain range ) in Asia .
The top of the mountain rises on the border between Mongolia and Russia (Republic of Buryatia). It is located in Eastern Sayan immediately to the south and southwest of the headwaters of the Oka and Irkut rivers , which flow from its flanks to the north and east to the Angara . Lake Chöwsgöl Nuur (Chubsugul) is located south of the mountain .
