Murat Kaya (politician)

Murat Kaya (born October 16, 1963 ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ). He has been a member of the Grand Council for the Canton of Basel-Stadt since 2013 .

Life

In October 2001 Murat Kaya took over the Basel company Schneider + Sutter AG, which specializes in the planning and implementation of heating and ventilation systems, and is its managing director.

He is a member of the FDP Basel-Stadt and is active there in the IG Migration. For the Grand Council elections in September 2008, he ran in the constituency of Grossbasel Ost in 19th place on the FDP list. In the spring of 2011, he ran for one of the 40 seats in the Citizens' Council at number 20 on the FDP list . On February 1, 2013, he moved into the Grand Council in the constituency of Grossbasel Ost. There he is a member of the Justice, Security and Sports Commission (JSSK) and the Environment, Transport and Energy Commission (DETEC). A fight candidate in September 2013 against the green liberal former Aeneas Wanner for a seat on the board of directors of the IWB (Industrielle Werke Basel) failed significantly.

Murat Kaya belongs to the Alevis religion and appears publicly as such.
