Murray Bail

Murray Bail (born September 22, 1941 in Adelaide ) is an Australian writer . He lives in Sydney .

His best-known novel is Eucalyptus from 1998 , for which he received various awards a year later, including the Miles Franklin Award , the Commonwealth Writers' Prize and the ALS Gold Medal .

A portrait of Murray Bail by artist Fred Williams is owned by the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra but is not currently on display.
