Fabre Museum
The Musée Fabre is a museum in Montpellier in the south of France . It was founded in 1825 by the painter François-Xavier Fabre . The collector and patron Alfred Bruyas worked here as a curator and left large parts of his collection to the museum. It was extensively renovated between 2003 and January 2007.
collection
The museum houses around 1,800 paintings, 4,000 drawings, 1,500 graphics and a few hundred sculptures (as of 2007). Since reopening in 2007, around 800 objects have been shown in the presence exhibition.
