Laura Kästel (born September 29, 1992 ), also known by the stage name Laurita Spinelli , is a German singer and casting show winner.

Life

The Wiesbaden native grew up in Königsau . Her parents are professional musicians, her half- Filipino mother Teresa Kästel is a singer, her father a keyboardist . Pop singer Jenniffer Kae is her older sister. In 2002 she won the Kiddy Contest with the song I want to go to the disco, a cover version of the song Crying at the Discoteque by Alcazar . In 2004 she took part in the second season of the talent show Star Search and reached the semifinals. Among other things, she was a background singer at concerts by Lena and Sarah Connor .

In 2019, the NDR put together the women's duo S! Sters , consisting of her and Carlotta Truman, for the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . You won and represented Germany in the competition in Israel in May 2019 with the song Sister . They reached the penultimate place among the twenty-six participating countries. They were the only performers in the final to receive zero points in the audience rating.
