Carlotta Truman (born October 19, 1999 in Hanover ) is a German singer . She became known as a finalist in the German casting shows Das Supertalent (2009) and The Voice Kids (2014). In 2019 she took part in the ESC in Israel for Germany.

Music career

Carlotta Truman had her first stage appearances at the age of one and a half years. She began to sing professionally at the age of eight in the children's pop choir "Kidz of Horst", which her mother directed. When she was nine years old, she applied to Das Supertalent and became a finalist. She sang her versions of Duffy's Mercy , Marit Larsen's If a Song Could Get Me You and John Lennon's Imagine live in front of over nine million viewers. A tour through Germany's concert halls followed.

Truman released her first single when she was ten; eleven years she sang live at the ARD telecast Our show for Germany as Lena Meyer-Landrut - Double . In addition to her numerous solo appearances (including Radio FFN Children's Days), she has been working with the Hanover Federal Police Orchestra since July 2011 . At the beginning of October 2011 she performed with him for the then Federal President Christian Wulff in the Villa Hammerschmidt .

In December 2011, Truman won the German Rock & Pop Award for best solo singer in Germany. In the 29 years of the award history, a twelve-year-old has never been nominated. In December of the same year she took part in the Hit-Radio-Antenne -Weihnachtswichtel tour through Lower Saxony .

2014 was Truman candidate of Sat.1 telecast The Voice Kids . She made it to the final and took one of two second places.

2019 presented the NDR for the German preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest the Damenduo S! Sters together consisting of her and Laura Kästel . They won and represented Germany in the competition in Israel in May 2019 . After Wyn Hoop and Lena Meyer-Landrut, Truman was only the third person from Hanover or the fourth from the Hanover region (after Jamie-Lee Kriewitz ) to represent Germany in this competition. In the final, Truman and Kästel reached the penultimate place among the twenty-six participating countries. They were the only performers to receive a point from any country in the audience rating.

Also in 2019, Truman stood for the first time as an actress in an episode lead role in the series In All Friendship - The Young Doctors in front of the camera. About a year later she had another episode role in the RTL series Nightsisters .
