Housed in the premises of the old court , the Historical Museum presents its collection in various permanent and special exhibitions. The collection includes art and cultural-historical objects from prehistoric times to the 21st century.
Collection Ludwig
The old bridge town hall houses the Ludwig Collection, one of the most important private porcelain and faience collections in Europe. The collector couple Peter and Irene Ludwig have collected treasures from various faience and porcelain manufacturers and given them to the city of Bamberg on permanent loan.
Villa Dessauer
The Villa Dessauer , built in 1884 by the Jewish hop trader Carl Dessauer, has served as a city gallery since 1987, in which international and local artists present their works in temporary exhibitions.
