Jean-Marie Maury

Jean-Marie Maury (born May 22, 1907 in Agen ; † June 5, 1994 ) was a French Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Reims .

Life

In 1932 Maury was ordained a priest. In 1957 he was appointed titular bishop of Elis . 1959 Jean-Marie Maury was titular Archbishop of Laodicea in Phrygia . At the same time he was appointed a delegate in Senegal . Four years later, Maury became apostolic nuncio in the DR Congo , Burundi and Rwanda . In 1968, Jean-Marie Maury finally became Archbishop of Reims. He held this office until his resignation due to illness on December 16, 1972.
