Jacques Ménager

Jacques-Eugène-Louis Ménager (born July 24, 1912 in Anor , † March 13, 1998 ) was Archbishop of Reims .

Life

Jacques Ménager, in Nord born near the Belgian border, received in the June 29, 1936 Versailles the priesthood .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on June 23, 1955 titular bishop of Antioch Parva and appointed him auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Versailles . The episcopal ordination donated him on October 8th of the same year Alexandre-Charles Renard , Bishop of Versailles. Co- consecrators were Julien François Le Couëdic , Bishop of Troyes , and Roger Michon , Bishop of Chartres . In 1958 Ménager became General Secretary of Catholic Action in France. On December 7, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Meaux . From 1962 to 1965 he participated as a council father at the Second Vatican Council .

Pope Paul VI appointed Ménager on July 13, 1973 Archbishop of Reims. He held this office until his age-related retirement on August 8, 1988. Jacques Ménager died in 1998 and was buried in Reims Cathedral.
