It can be reached on foot from Niederrickenbach Abbey or from Klewenalp ; in both cases on hiking trails that rise steeply at times. The ascent from Klewenalp over the Bärenfallen mountain nose is secured with steel cables. The Musenalp is a good stopover for a hike to the summit of the Buochserhorn.

From Niederrickenbach there is also a small aerial tramway up to the Alp, each of which has a cabin that can hold four people.

There is a mountain inn on the Musenalp, which offers simple, inexpensive outdoor dining on the terrace in summer.
