exhibition

The focus of the collections is on the Kellinghusener faiences from the 18th and 19th centuries. These faiences are particularly famous for their plates, the floral border of which is underlaid with a bright yellow and the center of which has a colorful bouquet of flowers. In Kellinghusen, six faience workshops have been identified between 1765 and 1860. In addition to the workpieces on display, the exhibition explains the manufacture, use and distribution of Kellinghusener faience. The transition from manual to industrial production is shown by the products of the Fernsichter Thonwaarenfabrik , which continued local ceramic production into the 20th century. Exhibits by contemporary artists such as Hwang Kap-Sun or Fritz Vehring are also on display.
