Fritz Vehring

Fritz Vehring (born November 3, 1944 in Syke , Diepholz district , Lower Saxony ) is a German artist ( ceramics ) and university professor . He lives and works in Syke- Henstedt .

biography

After an apprenticeship in ceramics from 1964 to 1967 in Höhr-Grenzhausen , Vehring attended the State College for Ceramic Design in Höhr-Grenzhausen from 1969 to 1972. From 1972 to 1977 he completed his studies with Walter Popp at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel .

Act

In 1974 Vehring held a teaching position for ceramics at the Kassel University and from 1979 to 1983 at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld . From 1983 to 1986 he worked in Krefeld as a professor for ceramic design , and from 1986 to 2011 he worked at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen as a professor for ceramics.

Fritz and Vera Vehring have had a joint studio in Syke since 1974 .

Vehring's ceramic works can be found in museums and public collections in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands and Japan.

Symposia, workshops and lectures

From 1978 to 1997 Vehring took part in numerous international ceramic symposia, mainly in other European countries - in Italy, Hungary, Spain, Uzbekistan, but also in Canada and California. In 1987 he took part in the 5th International Ceramic Symposium in Römhild.
