The Museum Miltenberg is located in the "House Miltenberg", a building with ornate Renaissance - bay windows on Schnatterloch in Miltenberg . The museum was awarded the Bavarian Museum Prize in 1999 for its conception and presentation .

The Museum Stadt Miltenberg and the Museum Berg Miltenberg are the museums of the city of Miltenberg , their exhibitions are thematically divided.

The exhibition is dedicated to the historical and cultural development of Miltenberg and its region as well as the life of its residents. The highlights of the exhibition are the torah gable from the oldest synagogue building in Germany, a Roman parade shield hump , Gothic stone sculptures as well as gold and silver coins from the medieval history of the city and the staging of a Landwehr chapel with original instruments from the early 19th century. The permanent exhibition is fitted into the historic rooms.

Under the motto “Living and working in a bourgeois town”, room furnishings of various times and exhibitions on the most important bread purchases in Miltenberg are presented. In addition, trains , steam engines and construction sets can be seen in a toy collection .

Branch offices of the museum show a mikveh (ritual bath) of the former Jewish community of Miltenberg in Löwengasse and a Roman pottery furnace in the Caritas nursing home near the Würzburg Gate, which was recovered during construction work.
