The Museum of Welsh Life ( English St Fagans National History Museum , Welsh Amgueddfa Werin Cymru ) is an open-air museum in Cardiff .

history

St Fagans Castle

The museum was established in 1946 with the endowment of the property and castle of St Fagans (1580) by the Earl of Plymouth. It opened in 1948 under the name "Welsh Folk Museum".

From the Celtic village to the House of the Future, all eras of Welsh life can be traced on the grounds. For this purpose, buildings have been brought in from all parts of Wales.
