The Soin , also often called Soinwand, is a 1756 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Alps . It is surrounded by the peaks of the Wendelstein , the Kesselwand , the Wildalpjoch and the Hochsalwand . Part of the Wendelstein cog railway ( Mitteralm to Reindlerscharte) runs on the northern slope of the mountain. Between Wildalpjoch and Soin lies the Soinkessel with the Soin-Almen, the Soin-Hütte of the Bundeswehr and the Soinsee.

- Coming from Wendelstein via the Zeller Scharte (approx. 1 hour from the mountain station)
- From Sudelfeld over the Lacherhang and the Zeller Scharte approx. 3 hours
- From St Margarethen via the Mitteralm and the Soinkessel approx. 3.5 hours
