Sergei Wiktorowitsch Soin ( Russian Сергей Викторович Соин ; born March 31, 1982 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HK Lada Tolyatti in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Sergei Soin began his active career in 1998 with the Russian first division club Krylja Sowetow Moscow , which he left in 2003. In the 2000 NHL Entry Draft , the Colorado Avalanche had selected him in the second round in 50th place, for which he never played. After two seasons with HK CSKA Moscow , he was under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez between 2005 and 2011 .

In May 2011 Soin was signed by OHK Dynamo for two years and won the Gagarin Cup with them in 2012 and 2013 . After the 2014/15 season, his contract with Dynamo ran out and Soin moved to Salawat Julajew Ufa .

International

Sergei Soin played seven games for the Russian national team at the 2003 World Cup . During his junior years, he was on the ice in six games for his home country at the U18 World Junior Championships in 2000 and won the silver medal. Two years later he was a participant in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2002 and won the gold medal with Russia. Soin contributed two goals to this success during the tournament.

Soin was only used again in a men's world championship in 2013 and collected 4 scorer points in 8 games during the tournament.
