particularities quiet summit in the immediate vicinity of the Wendelstein

The Wildalpjoch is a 1720 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Alps . It is surrounded by the peaks of the Wendelstein , the Kesselwand , the Soin and the Hochsalwand . Sudelfeld is in the south . It is a summit that is mostly climbed by locals and therefore less frequented than its neighbor Wendelstein. However, one has almost the same view. In winter, the summit is a popular destination for ski tourers .

Ascent

  • Coming from Wendelstein via the Zeller Scharte (from the mountain station approx. 1.5 hours)
  • From the car park at Sudelfeld past Unterarzmoos and Jackelberg , then the Kaserwand about 2.5 hours
  • From St. Margarethen via the Mitteralm and the Soin kessel approx. 3.5 hours

Others

In Munich , the Wildalpjochstraße is named after the mountain.
