Music Box was the first pan-European 24-hour music station to be broadcast across Europe from London via Eutelsat- 1 F1 satellite. There were moderators from different European countries. The operator was Music Channel Ltd., a joint project between THORN EMI , Virgin Group and Yorkshire Television. Broadcasting began in March 1984. In West Germany , the program was fed into the cable television network of the Deutsche Bundespost . The last music video played on January 30, 1987 before switching to Super Channel was Don't Give Up by Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel .
