MUSICAM
MUSICAM ( English Masking Pattern Adapted Universal Subband Integrated Coding And Multiplexing ) is a system for lossy data compression of audio signals, such as B. language or music .
To calculate the compression of the data stream, the psychoacoustic model is used , which tries to map the filtering of the tones that cannot be perceived by the ear .
MUSICAM is used in MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2 (MP2), which is used, for example, in DAB (not DAB + !), DVB or ADR . It laid the foundation for the development of MP3 .
MUSICAM was developed as part of the development of DAB by EUREKA , which was funded by the EU .
