Music Amrein was in Lübeck -based manufacturer of brass instruments of the brand Amrein handmade and supplier of brand accessories AMR .
The product range included trumpets , flugelhorns , cornets and trombones , all of which were made by hand. In addition to the trumpets, Amrein bass trombones were among the high-quality instruments of their kind made in Germany (and thus worldwide), especially because of the innovative, internally developed valve construction . Many models were only made to order. The distinguishing feature of the Amrein handmade instrument series was an emblem of the Lübeck Holsten Gate made of silver.
In 1991 the company's tenor trombone, model No. 9e , was awarded the German Musical Instrument Prize by the Federal Ministry of Economics . In 2013 Musik Amrein produced the first trombone bell made of carbon. The lightweight high-tech material carbon weighs 20% less than brass and allows optimal handling of the instrument and comfortable music-making. Amrein was also the only supplier who experimented with titanium coatings for brass instruments and accessories and offered the titanization of mouthpieces as a service.
The company closed in 2016 when the company's founders retired.
