The Musikernes fellesorganisasjon (MFO) is a Norwegian trade union . It came into being on January 1st, 2001 through a merger of Norsk kantor- og organistforbund , Norsk Musiciansforbund and Norsk Musicians- and Musikkpedagogforening .
In addition to musicians, membership is open to many different people in the labor force , for example music teachers and therapists , singers, dancers, scenographers , producers , stage managers , prompts , technicians and music critics . The MFO is based in Oslo .
The MFO is affiliated with the Landsorganisasjonen i Norge (LO). Hans Ole Rian has been the head of the association since 2013 and is supported by two deputies. The MFO has over 8,600 members (2018).
