Mussa Chamaune

Mussa Chamaune (born August 19, 1992 in Mozambique ) is a Mozambican canoeist.

Together with his canoeist colleague Joaquim Lobo , he took part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . Lobo and Chamaune were the first Mozambican canoeists to ever take part in the Olympic Games. They qualified in the qualifying round from March 29 to April 2, 2016 in Pretoria, South Africa. During the entire preparation phase, the two canoeists received extensive support from the Brazilian Canoe Association, although the cooperation is said to have ended due to differences.

Chamaune competed both in the single canoe over 1000 m and together with Lobo in the double canoe over 1000 m. In the single Canadier reached the semi-finals with a time of 5: 00.454 min (7th place), then retired with a time of 5: 07.281 min (8th place). In the double canoe with Lobo he reached the final and achieved 11th place with a time of 4: 38.732 min.
