Mustafa Turunçoğlu (* 1932 in Afyonkarahisar , Afyonkarahisar Province ) is a former Turkish Vice Admiral who was the first commander in chief of the Coast Guard ( Turk Sahil Güvenlik Komutanlığı ) between 1982 and 1984 .

Life

After attending school, Turunçoğlu completed an officer training course at the Naval School ( Deniz Harp Okulu ), which he graduated in 1954. He then found use as a naval officer on various ships and command posts in the Navy ( Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri ). After attending the Naval Academy ( Deniz Harp Akademisi ) he became the commander of the minesweeper TCG Sapanca (M-517) in 1967 and was then employed in the Naval Command Operations Department ( Donanma Komutanlığı ) from 1969 to 1970 . On August 30, 1982 Turunçoğlu was promoted to Rear Admiral ( Tümamiral ). Turunçoğlu was promoted to Vice Admiral ( Koramiral ) on August 30, 1987 and then served as Chief of Staff of the Navy ( Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri Kurmay Başkanı ) between 1987 and 1990 , before becoming Commander-in-Chief of Naval Command North from 1990 to 1992 ( Kuzey Deniz Saha Komutanlığı ) was in Istanbul , which is responsible for the Marmara Sea, Black Sea , Bosporus and Dardanelles , among others . He retired on August 30, 1992 when he reached the age limit.
