Mutaib II bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born March 26, 1952 ) is a Saudi Arabian politician and member of the Saudi Arabian armed forces .

Life

He attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and completed a military career as a lieutenant in 1974. In King Khalid Military City he completed further studies for his military training. In the course of his military career, he rose to the command of the National Guard in Saudi Arabia . On May 27, 2013, the National Guard was reorganized into a ministry, and Prince Mutaib was appointed minister at the same time. He held this office until November 4, 2017, when he was arrested on suspicion of corruption - among other things, on suspicion of misappropriating state funds. On November 28, 2017, he was released on payment of a large sum - believed to be more than a billion US dollars.

He is married and has six children. His son Abdullah is internationally successful as a show jumper .
