The German Regulation on the protection of officials of the federal and parental leave for civil servants of the federal (maternity and parental leave regulation - MuSchEltZV) is the Federal Ministry of the Interior issued maternity regulation on the federal level . It regulates maternity leave for federal civil servants and parental leave for federal civil servants in Germany.

content

The Maternity Protection and Parental Leave Ordinance refers to the provisions of the Maternity Protection Act applicable to female employees , the Ordinance on the Protection of Mothers at Work and the Federal Parental Allowance and Parental Leave Act . Apart from these references, it contains only a few regulations specific to civil servants.

Federal officials therefore have a legal status comparable to that of employees with regard to maternity protection and parental leave.

The Maternity Protection and Parental Leave Ordinance came into force on February 14, 2009 as Article 1 of the Ordinance on the New Regulations on Maternity Protection and Parental Leave. At the same time, the maternity protection ordinance and the parental leave ordinance , which had been in force since January 1964, became invalid .

The federal states have issued appropriate maternity protection ordinances for civil servants of the state, the municipalities, the municipal associations and other corporations , institutions and foundations under public law under the supervision of the state , including the municipal electoral officers . The states of Brandenburg, Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt apply the federal regulations accordingly (Section 71 LBG, Section 81 NBG, Section 82 LBG LSA).
