The text mentions the place Annandale , in which the Bard College is located, where the authors Donald Fagen and Walter Becker studied. In the lyrics she had betrayed an acquaintance to prosecutor "Daddy Gee" ( Gordon Liddy ). As a result, the singer vows that he "will never go back to college" until "California falls into the ocean."
