Countdown to Ecstasy is the second studio album by the US band Steely Dan .

General

Donald Fagen sang all of the tracks on the album.

The original artwork for the cover design was created by Fagen's friend Dorothy White. ABC President Jay Lasker insisted on expanding the original three figures to five so that the number would match the five band members.

In 1999 Joe Jackson described in his autobiography A Cure for Gravity that Countdown to Ecstasy as a bridge between jazz and rock was a great inspiration for his compositions.
