Myeloblast

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Myeloblasts are precursor cells of a certain population of white blood cells ( leukocytes ). They are the first morphologically identifiable granulopoiesis cells in the bone marrow smear . They develop into promyelocytes .

They are the only cells within the white row without granulation. The nucleus is round to oval, the chromatin structure is reticular and clearly demarcated nucleoli can be seen. The cytoplasm is shown in the Pappenheim staining in an intense blue or purple, the Golgi apparatus is visible in the form of a lightened zone around the cell nucleus (perinuclear). In contrast to the proerythroblasts , the myeloblasts have no plasma protuberances .
