Mykola Wassylowytsch Bilokon ( Ukrainian Микола Васильович Білоконь , Russian Никола́й Васи́льевич Билоко́н ; born March 22, 1955 in Mohyliwka in Vinnytsia Oblast ) is a Ukrainian politician. He was Minister of the Interior of Ukraine from August 2003 to February 2005 .

Bilokon trained as a police officer and started working as an inspector of the criminal police in Kiev in 1975. In 1992 he obtained the title of candidate of legal sciences at the University of the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior.

Since 1994 Bilokon has worked in leading positions in the Ministry of the Interior of Ukraine; in November 2001 he was appointed to the presidential administration by the then Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma .

In August 2003, Bilokon was appointed Minister of the Interior of Ukraine. He was always considered loyal to Kuchma and also a supporter of the then prime minister and presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych , whom he supported during the 2004 presidential elections in Ukraine .

After Viktor Yushchenko's victory in the presidential elections, he lost his ministerial office and was succeeded by Yuriy Lutsenko .

He escaped a criminal investigation against him, among other things for abuse of office and corruption, by fleeing to Russia at the beginning of 2005. Bilokon took Russian citizenship and currently lives in Moscow. Since Viktor Yanukovych won the 2010 presidential election , there has been speculation about his return to Ukraine.
