Mykolas Jankauskas

Mykolas Jankauskas (born August 9, 1905 in Šniūrai , Wolost Pušalotas , now Rajongemeinde Pasvalys ; † March 9, 1999 in Karmėlava ) was a Lithuanian forest scientist.

Life

In 1928 Jankauskas graduated from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija . In 1969 he completed his habilitation in biology . From 1929 to 1942 he worked at Miškų departamentas in the forest administration. From 1945 to 1949 he headed the chair of forest economics at the forest faculty of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1946 to 1949 he also worked as a senior engineer at Lietuvos miškotvarkos kontora . From 1949 to 1952, he was the dean of the forestry faculty of Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija in Kaunas . From 1950 to 1989 he worked at the Miškų institutas , from 1950 to 1976 he headed the department for forest economics and organization. From 1972 he taught as a professor .

He was holder of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas Order.
